Danny McCoy’s Story

Danny McCoy believes that ASABC “saved his life.”

Danny, being paraplegic traces his comeback to the 1997 Mobility Cup and the individual who inspired him to sail again – legendary high quad sailor, Rene Dallaire. “Rene helped me believe that life was worth living again.”

Danny went on to form the Ontario chapter of ASA. He calls Toronto his home, but functions as a ASA ambassador of sorts, travelling all over, racing and organizing events. Last heard from he was preparing to leave San Diego where he competed in the regatta he founded and was on the way to Key West, making a long wide loop towards home port.
