The Burrard Yacht Club has been a proud community partner of the Adaptive Sailing Association of British Columbia (ASABC) for 15 years through its annual Classic Boat & Car Show.

This valued partnership has helped raise significant funds to support accessible sailing opportunities for people with disabilities, helping ensure that adaptive sailing remains available to individuals of all abilities.

Community Impact

Through the Burrard Yacht Club Classic Boat & Car Show, the club has supported ASABC for more than 15 years.

In 2025, the event raised $40,000 in support of adaptive sailing programs.

  • 833 sailing excursions for children, youth, adults, and seniors with disabilities
  • 232 participants served through adaptive sailing programs
  • 508 accompanied sailing experiences with staff and volunteers
  • 123 independent solo sails
  • 50 regatta sails, including participation in the Mobility Cup
  • 3 Kids Day events introducing youth to sailing

Funds raised also support:

  • Adaptive sailboats and specialized equipment
  • Ongoing boat maintenance
  • Program staffing and safety support
  • Accessible sailing opportunities for the disability community

Their support has also helped us replenish our fleet.
