Welcome to the 2026 Mobility Cup, hosted in Vancouver as we celebrate the regatta’s 35th anniversary. This milestone year marks a powerful homecoming: Mobility Cup began here in 1991 and has since grown into Canada’s premier international regatta for sailors with disabilities.

What Is the Mobility Cup?
The Mobility Cup is Canada’s largest annual regatta for sailors with disabilities, welcoming athletes from across Canada and around the world.
Its guiding belief: Anyone can sail.
Founded in Vancouver by accessibility advocate Sam Sullivan, the event showcases inclusion, community, and the power of adaptive sport. Each year, sailors compete in Martin 16 adaptive sailboats equipped with sip-and-puff, joystick, and custom supports made possible by volunteers and national partners.
2026: Returning to Where It All Began
The 35th-anniversary regatta returns to the city where the event first set sail. Vancouver’s adaptive sailing community, volunteers, and long-standing partners will come together to make this a landmark year.
What to Expect in 2026:
- More than 100 volunteers supporting on-water and land operations
- Adaptive fleet races for both novice and experienced sailors
- Community celebrations at Royal Vancouver Yacht Club (RVYC)

Volunteer Registration
Mobility Cup would not be possible without the incredible dedication of volunteers. Each year, more than 100 volunteers help make this event safe, welcoming, and successful.
We are currently recruiting volunteers for a variety of roles both on land and on the water.
Volunteer opportunities include:
- Dock support and sailor assistance
- Safety boat crews
- Event registration and guest services
- Equipment support
- Event setup and logistics
- Photography and media support
Volunteers can also purchase optional meal tickets for social events and receive a volunteer welcome package.
